Ophelia, a 1984 Maryknoll graduate, is currently Managing Director of MEJiX, her marketing consultancy practice, specializing in branding, communications and strategic planning.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Stanford University. Prior to that, she was awarded a full scholarship to study at the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales where she completed the IB diploma.

Her career began with AT&T where she spent ten years in key management positions in the United States and Asia Pacific, leading efforts in marketing calling card, telecommunications and internet services. She was also Regional Marketing Director for Pacific Coffee, and did public relations and brand consulting work at CatchOn Communications.

Ophelia has a keen interest in education. She founded a company that offered Putonghua enrichment programs to train young children linguistic and thinking skills. She serves as Board Director of the School Management Committee of Creative Secondary School, and the United World College Hong Kong Committee, and has been a Maryknoll Foundation member since its inception. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Stanford University, and her Master of Education degree from the University of Hong Kong. Upon completing her HKCEE from Maryknoll, she was awarded a full scholarship to study at the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales where she completed the IB diploma.

What is your first memory of the school, (and if relevant, how did that influence you)?


From the first time I walked down the (seemingly never-ending) primary school hall for the entrance interview, I learned what being a Maryknoller is about – we stand tall, with a smile on the face and a sparkle in the eye!
