Dear Maryknollers,

As much as we all look forward to our 95th Anniversary and the beautiful celebration of remembrance, we feel that we need to support the community we live in and the measures  for reigning in the coronavirus.  Given the health risk of large crowds mingling at physical gatherings and the Chinese New Year school holidays having been extended to 17 February as mandated by the Education Bureau, we have made the difficult but prudent decision of NOT proceeding with the 14 February Homecoming event and the 15 February Gala Dinner as planned. 

We are all disappointed as many of us have made special plans including travelling from afar for this special opportunity to celebrate and renew our Maryknoll spirit and friendships, but the health and safety of our Sisters and the Maryknoll community at large must be our top priority. 

11 February 2020 marks our School’s 95th birthday, and it is just the beginning of this special anniversary. The Organising Committee is currently working hard to explore different celebration options and dates throughout the anniversary year. 

 Indeed, meaningful celebrations can be in different forms! Knowing that some alumni have been or will be organising private gatherings with their classmates or showing their Maryknoll spirit of service by supporting the community in the fight against the coronavirus, we encourage you to share your happy or meaningful moments on this dedicated e-platform and we will upload to the anniversary website. Let’s continue to bond and build using modern technology!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work on the revised plans amidst uncertainties and changing circumstances.  These include ongoing negotiations with HKCEC on reduction of penalties and other options.
