Cecilia Yau, a 1991 Maryknoll graduate, is a life member of MCS Foundation and has been a mentor of Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section) for a number of years.

Cecilia is the Mainland China and Hong Kong Media Leader and Education Industry Leader, China South, at PwC China. During her over 20 years with the firm, she has led teams in serving a number of listed and multinational companies across Asia Pacific. Cecilia’s extensive experience includes in the fields of audit, financial due diligence, risk assessments review, flotation work and business consulting services, particularly in the media, technology, education and medical industries. 

Additionally, Cecilia is a Board member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau Hong Kong, which aims to develop standards and best practices for digital marketing in Hong Kong. 

Cecilia holds a BA (Hon) in Economics from the University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and with American Institute of Certified Public Accountants qualification.

What is your first memory of the school, (and if relevant, how did that influence you)?

My very first memory of Maryknoll is the first day when I stepped inside the Red Brick Castle surrounded by expansive green lawn. At that moment, I felt so proud to be educated in such a prestigious and beautiful campus. Fortunately, my daughter has the opportunity following in her mom’s footsteps and became a primary student of Maryknoll in 2019. 

What kind of skills, knowledge, or contribution do you bring to the school as a Councillor?

I joined the IMC Finance Committees of Maryknoll’s Primary and Secondary Sections in 2018. With my finance and accounting experience, it would be my honour to bring my expertise to serve Maryknoll and the Foundation.
