Ms Amy Ho

Amy received her B.Soc Sci Degree from the University of HK and her Executive MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, IL, USA, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

In her professional career, Amy had served on the Secretariat of the Consultative Committee of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong SAR during the drafting of the Basic Law, and then at the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong as a regulator of listed companies. She was on the Work Group appointed by the PRC and HK authorities to initiate H-shares listings of Chinese SOEs. Amy later joined investment bank Merrill Lynch as Head of China Desk, Chairman’s Office (Asia Pacific) bringing HK and PRC securities to the international capital markets.

Amy is active in promoting Corporate Governance, having served on the Board of listed company as Independent Non-executive Director and had served on institutions including HK Institute of Directors on professional development & training; and the HK Securities Institute on professional examinations & accreditations. Amy conducts training programs for HK listed companies on regulatory compliance and investor communication.

Amy engages extensively in community service with focus on Youth & Education. She serves the HK Blind Union on its “Education Fund for Persons with Visual Impairment in China” for making funding grants to support blind students in their pursuit for education and fulfillment of full potentials. She is on the Mentorship Programs for the visually-impaired at HKBU and also for students at the University of HK since the latter Program’s inception in 1997. She continues to counsel her team of mentees from over the years. Partnering the School in 2005, Amy initiated and organized the Mentorship Program at MCS Secondary which continues to run strong. She also initiated the Trust-funded Educational Psychologist & Clinical Psychologists service at MCS serving students, teachers, parents – and with sharing vis-a-vis other schools.

Amy was Assistant Governor, Rotary International, HK & Macau District. She served as Counselor for Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Program sponsoring HK Masters degree scholars to study overseas and international scholars to study here. She was active with a TWGH school program in providing students with broadening exposure and enrichment. 

Amy also served other learning institutions in various capacities. She was on the committees of Chinese International School including that for establishing a new Mainland campus and that for engaging distinguished speakers in education and parenting for the school community. Amy was also Panelist for quality assurance review of Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program.

Amy, a 1979 Maryknoll graduate, has never stopped serving her beloved alma mater.

Amy was President of the Students‘ Association (1980), President of the Former Students’ Association (1990’s), Donor of annual scholarships awarded for “broad world view and heart of service” (since 2000). She was called upon by the Sisters in year 2000 to set up a Work Group which eventually brought forth a new School Sponsoring Body – the MCS Foundation Ltd. of which Amy served as Vice Chairperson with Sr Jeanne Houlihan as Chairperson at inception. Amy then chaired a Steering Committee to set up the Incorporated Management Committees (IMC) for the Secondary and Primary Sections. Amy is currently Supervisor of Maryknoll Primary.
