Dear Maryknollers and friends,
We have just received news that our dear Sister Marie Corinne Rost went quietly and peacefully home to God Sunday morning on 1 September 2019.
Sister Corinne was Headmistress from 1967 – 1977 and Supervisor from 1977 – 1983 at MCS Primary School. Many of us would remember Sister teaching us music, singing in that inimitable soprano voice of hers. She was also the one who started our now institutional floral pattern and the orange-and-tan color scheme of our uniform.
Long will Sister live on in our loving memories!
We would like to invite you to join us in prayer for our dear Sister Marie Corinne Rost, M.M., who passed away peacefully on 1st September 2019.
Mass of the Resurrection for Sr Marie Corinne Rost, M.M.
Date: 21st September 2019
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Venue: MCS Primary Section Assembly Hall (Chapel)
All requested to be seated by 2:45 p.m. for song rehearsal.
Rev. Peter Latouf, M.M. will celebrate the Eucharist with us.
To generations of Maryknollers, Sister Corinne’s love of music remains an integral part of their fond memories for MCS. Sister Corinne came to Hong Kong for her first overseas mission assignment in 1946. For the next 36 years, she devoted her love and life to her students and the school community. She served Maryknoll Convent School Primary from 1967-1977 as Principal, and from 1977-1983 as Supervisor. After returning to serve for two years in New York, Sister Corinne returned to Hong Kong in 1986 to serve at St. Joseph’s Parish, and taught Religious Education and English until 1995.
May we share our loss and gratitude for our beloved Sister Corinne in mass, and give thanks to God for His abundant blessings to us as a community.
