We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Lydia Huang early this morning ( 4 May ), peacefully and without pain.

Most of us will affectionately call Mrs Huang ‘Madame’. After having taught in Trinidad for five years, Madame joined Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section) in 1965 where she taught until l987. Appointed then as the first lay Principal, she served until 1997. She also served as School Supervisor for MCS Primary Section from 1991 until 2008. Madame has served as Vice-Chairperson and as a Trustee of the Maryknoll Convent School Educational Trust since its inception in 1992 until 2004. She was also an Honorary Advisor of MCS Foundation.

Madame has lovingly touched so many Maryknollers over the years. Her graciousness, her love and her kindness will forever be in the hearts of all of us. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Madame’s family.
