Dear Maryknollers / Gala Dinner Participants
Hope this message finds you well!
Subsequent to the cancellation of the 95th Anniversary Gala Dinner, we have offered a number of refund options in our earlier correspondence. By end of February, we have received over 1500 responses and have since consolidated different submissions.
Taking this opportunity, we would like to thank everyone for taking the time to submit your preferences, and in particular, those alumnae and friends of the Maryknoll community who have opted to gift the cost of their gala dinner tickets to the Foundation. Please rest assured that these generous contributions will be put to good use to support our School’s ongoing development and to offset the sunk costs incurred by the gala dinner.
To safeguard everyone’s health and safety, the original plan was to announce the cheque and gala gift bag collection details as soon as school resumes. Unfortunately, class suspension has been extended a few times, and as of today, the EDB still does not have a confirmed school resumption date. On a brighter note, the current trajectory of the pandemic development looks hopeful with consecutive days of single digit new cases in HK. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to announce more specific details around mid May in line with the Government’s possible relaxation of public gathering restrictions.
In parallel, the Gala Committee has been working tirelessly to organise the refund logistics putting health and safety as top priority. We thank you for your patience and understanding as our volunteers continue to work hard to process the refunds. Should there be any special circumstance that may necessitate an earlier refund, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org before 3 May 2020. We will try our best to accommodate your special requests.
